Girls Varsity Loses CIF Semi-Final 2-1 in OT

The Girls Varsity lost their CIF Semi-Final 2-1 in the second OT period.  The girls took an early lead on Junior Jade Fiumano's goal minutes into the first-half.  And with that goal Jade secured the Uni Girl Varsity Soccer record for most goals in a season!  Oak Park tied it up 1-1 at the 25 min mark and the teams went into half-time tied. The second-half was as hotly contested as the first and regular time ended at 1-1.

The Trojans were able fight back against a barrage of Oak Park attacks overtime. An outside shot mid-way in the second overtime period unfortunately slipped by Senior goalie Jessie Niedwick to end the game.  Jessie played another great game and it is notable that the two Oak Park goals tonight broke her impressive streak of 5 consecutive shutout games.

The Trojans end the season with an 13-10-3 record, the Pacific Hills League title, and finished with an impressive CIF-SS playoff run which ended with tonight's Semi-Final game.  Congratulations to the Uni coaching staff and the entire team on an epic season!
